Durood Sharif ﷺ is a beautiful way to show love and respect for our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is a way to invoke Allah's blessings upon him and to express our gratitude for his guidance and teachings. The Quran is filled with numerous verses that emphasize the importance of sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ(PBUH). "Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace." [Quran 33:56] إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا Translation: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace." 2. "Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you that believe! Send your blessings on him, and salute him with all respect." [Quran 33:56] إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا Translation: "Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you that believe! Send your blessings on him, and salute him with all respect." 3. "Say (O Muhammad): 'If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.'" [Quran 3:31] قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ Translation: "Say (O Muhammad): 'If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.'"

4. "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds." [Quran 21:107] وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

Translation: "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."

5. "And [He has sent] a Messenger [Muhammad] from themselves to recite to them His verses and to purify them and teach them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error." [Quran 3:164] لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

Translation: "And [He has sent] a Messenger [Muhammad] from themselves to recite to them His verses and to purify them and teach them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error."

6. "So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]." [Quran 3:159] فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ

Translation: "So, by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]."

7. "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds." [Quran 21:107] وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

Translation: "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."

8. "And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down to Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition." [Quran 47:2] وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَآمَنُوا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۙ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ

Translation: "And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down to Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition."

9. "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And Allah is Aware of all things." [Quran 33:40] مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا

Translation: "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And Allah is Aware of all things."

10. "And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant." [Quran 33:7] وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۖ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا

Translation: "And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant."
